Yogurt Recipe
Add half gallon of milk into a pot.
Boil the milk on stove for 10 minutes or more untill it boils completely. (You can boil it in microwave as well).
After the milk is boiled, leave it out for at least 20 minutes or more to cool down.
Now insert your finger in the milk pot to see if it’s a little bit hot but it doesn’t burn your finger.
Add two to three spoonful of the culture and stir so the culture gets mixed.
wrap a cooking towel on the lid of the pot and place the pot in a safe place for ten to twelve hours.
After the 12 hours your fresh healthy recipe of yogurt is done. Pure your fresh homemade yogurt in a bowl and place it in the fridge and serve it every day in the hot days of the summer. Don't forget to make fresh smoothies with your fresh yogurt too.
Note: for the first time when you make the recipe, please buy a can of plain yogurt from the store. Use 2 to 3 table spoons of the yogurt as a culture to make your fresh yogurt, but after the first time you can keep 2 to 3 table spoons of your home made yogurt for the next time. If you want to make flavored yogurt, then purchase any flavored yogurt from the store and use it as culture when you make yours.
Yogurt is usually used with many meals such as Bulani, Mantu, Ashak and other recipes, however, it's mostly used during the summer time when the weather reaches to over a hundred Fahrenheits in the region. There are other uses for the Yogurt including Lassi, Doogh (yogurt drink w/ cucumber and mint), Chaka and much more.
