Lamb Kabab Recipe
Afghanistan is well-known for it's food and hospitality. Lamb Kabab recipe is a delicious food with a yummy taste and its more common than the beef kebab among Afghans.
The ingredients for your yummy Afghan, Middle Eastern or Mediterranean kabob are:
- 2 lb Boneless lamb steak, cut into 1-in cubes

- 3 more onion for the skewers
- 1 ts Salt
- 1 ts Ground cumin seed
- 1/4 ts Pepper
- 2 tbs Lemon
- 2 tbs yogurt
First liquefy the onion and mix it with the salt, cumin seed, lemon, yogurt, pepper and the meat together. Marinate the meat for a night. This distributes flavors & tenderizes the meat. The next day, insert 4 pieces of the lamb alternating with onion quarters on each metal skewer. The barbeque the meat over the charcoal for 10 minutes both sides. Now the yummy lamb steak is ready to serve when it is warm with the fresh Afghan bread if available.
Note: for better taste, its important to marinate the meat before barbeque it. Also you can add the salt and pepper according to your desire. Enjoy your delicious Afghan kabob.
